Day 1LeticiaWED. LETICIA-TABATINGA : Cruise passengers can fly directly to Leticia from Bogota or Tabatinga, Brazil- and from Iquitos or Manaus . Amazon Cruise staff will be available at either airport to assist you with the transportation to the M/V Rio Amazonas. In the afternoon, it's only a short voyage to Monkey Island and your first shore excursion. Dinner at sunset while sailing upriver. (D).
Day 2At SeaTHU. ON CRUISE : After breakfast the ship will nose into the embankment at San Pablo, site of a remote hospital, whose patients have handcrafted interesting items available at their primitive gift shop. In the afternoon the ship will pause at a typical jungle sawmill and you'll see the great variety of exotic woods laboriously gathered by hand for processing and shipping to all parts of the world. (B,L,D).
Day 3At SeaFRI. ON CRUISE : Today's morning shore excursion visits two completely different Indian tribes: the barkskin-clad Bora whose enthusiastic dances are often joined by visitors and to the quiter, polite, Huitoto. Back on board, there is time to rest in the air-conditioned lounge or gently swing in an outside hammock until the afternoon trip ahore to a small, sparsely inhabited midstream island. Return to the ship for dinner. (B,L,D).
Day 4IquitosSAT. IQUITOS : The ship docks in Iquitos around 8:00am. After customes and immigration -transfers to the airport. (B).
