Royal Plantation Resort is an intimate adult only, beachfront resort with an emphasis on relaxation and luxury without pretense. Perfect for a special anniversary or honeymoon, every room has a beautiful view of the sparkling Caribbean Sea and every room is close enough to the water to hear the gently lapping waves.
Most guests at Royal Plantation spend time on one of two lovely beaches where butlers provide towels and offer champagne, fresh fruit and periodic “mistings” with rose water. Should you crave something special, simply raise a flag and allow yourself to be pampered,
Dining at Royal Plantation is gourmet, but not fussy. Guests can choose a breezy, open air terrace suspended above the sea, a casual beachside grill steps from the sand or the elegant crystal lit Le Papillon Restaurant. The food is superb and includes Jamaican specialties, international favorites, freshly caught seafood, locally prepared sauces and yummy desserts.
Service is personal and your waiter will know your preferences within days. But while the presentation and service is top notch, dress is decidedly casual. Jackets and ties are worn only by staff and most guests choose comfortable resort wear for cocktails and dinner. A cover up and footwear is all that is needed before 6p.
Complimentary water sports include twice daily snorkel trips, sailing, windsurfing, kayaks, aquatrikes, glass bottom boat and scuba. On land guests enjoy tennis, golf at the nearby country club (transfers and greens fees are complimentary), a pool table, giant chess on the pier, board games and fitness center.
When it’s time to venture away from the resort, a tour desk can arrange a wide range of day tours and activities such as mountain biking, river rafting, a dolphin swim, ATVs or a sightseeing by jeep. Or, for even more pampering, conside time at the award winning spa. Treatments include massages, wraps, facials and a full range of salon services.
Guests also have complimentary access to the all inclusive Sandals Grande Ocho Rios next door which adds another selection of restaurants, bars, pools with swim up pool bars, evening entertainment and organized activities.
Royal Plantation guests can choose the European Plan (room only) or the highly recommended Royal Plan which includes all meals, drinks, watersports, golf and activities. All room categories enjoy 24 hour room service and special extras such as a stocked in room bar, pillow menu, comfy robes and slippers.
Entry level rooms are a spacious 365-395 square feet with a step down living and dining area, four poster mahogany beds, combination shower/tub and ornamental French balcony. Upgraded rooms are much larger and add Roman tubs, tumbled stone showers and spacious furnished patios.
Top of the line suites offer one or two bedrooms with up to 2100 square feet and fabulous views from 3rd floor locations. Special note - there is limited elevator service at Royal Plantation so be prepared for stairs.
